We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer specialising in TMT/IT law who has 7 or more years' legal experience to join our exceptional TMT team based in Auckland, New Zealand. This team works with a broad spectrum of clients across the country and the broader Asia-Pacific region, advising on complex and interesting matters and supporting on transactions in this space. Led by partners Allan Yeoman and Keri Johansson , our TMT team has longstanding relationships with their clients and is highly regarded in the legal market for its practical and commercially savvy legal advice.
You will be working with leading experts in the field. More about our TMT team As the successful candidate, you will see yourself acting for a range of blue-chip clients in the private and public sectors, various tech start-ups, private equity and venture capital firms, broadcasting and media entities, and healthtech and healthcare sector agencies. You will provide advice on the full spectrum of TMT projects and regulatory advice, covering technology procurement and supply projects, commercial contracting, technology and content development and licensing, privacy and cyber, gaming, media and entertainment issues, marketing campaigns, and TV and film content production and acquisition.
Our TMT team works closely with Buddle Findlays corporate M&A team on tech and telco sector transactions, providing specialist knowledge and support when needed. Our ideal candidate would: have 7 years' TMT focused legal experience gained within a law firm or in-house environment demonstrate a track record working on the full range of TMT matters be experienced in advising on privacy, data protection and cyber be adept at contract drafting and negotiation have a good working knowledge of copyright legislation, the Fair Trading Act and other relevant regulatory areas enjoy working collaboratively within the team, firm, and externally Overseas applicants are required to be admitted as a Solicitor in New Zealand, Australia, the UK or a similar common law jurisdiction, and must be willing and able to relocate to New Zealand.
