What Will You Do? | Ka aha koe? As a Senior Building Consents officer, youll play a key role in ensuring compliance with the Building Act 2004, the New Zealand Building Code, and other relevant legislation. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and mentoring Building Control Officers, providing guidance and technical expertise. Processing and assessing building consent applications.
Conducting inspections and certifying building work. Providing expert advice and guidance to customers, builders, and developers. Supporting compliance efforts, including Building Warrants of Fitness and enforcement activities.
Assisting with the Councils accreditation and regulatory responsibilities. Stepping in as Acting Building Manager when required. Full-time (40 hours per week) some after-hours work and travel required.
Who Are You? | Ko wai koe? Minimum 3 years experience in building control, construction, or a related field. Strong knowledge of building regulations, codes, and the Building Act 2004. Proven experience in team leadership, mentoring, or people management.
Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently. A NZ Certificate (Level 4) in Building Regulatory Environment or relevant experience (a Diploma in Building Control or a trade qualification is desirable).
A current New Zealand drivers licence.
