This multi-disciplinary team enjoy tackling the more curly cases and have developed solid relationships across the board. A director is looking to dial back on duties in 2025 and we need someone with the same passion for finding worthwhile solutions, ability to lead technically and take the wheel. Senior Environmental Planner Role: This role is all about leading.

Taking charge of cases, bringing your understanding of the RMA, LGA, legal, operation and commercial constraints and opportunities, then, as a trusted advisor, leading the client towards a better solution. Using an in-depth knowledge of the Resource Management Act and consent process to make a viable plan. Communicating readily with owners, consent parties and other professionals to understand, develop strategies, make decisions.

Attending Environment Court when necessary. Being a trusted advisor throughout. Project s: These projects are at the core of New Zealand; helping us make the best use of natural resources in a wiser way and being part of building a good future.

These include: Water resources Natural materials Aggregates, roading and landfill Civil Projects Residential and commercial development Energy and Innovation Requirements: For this role, you will need to have a desire to tackle challenges, learn and lead. Very much a consultancy position, you will get to build and share your understanding with all parties, provide insight, clarity and wisdom. You will be a willing collaborator, engaging with other professionals for a better outcome, yet prepared stand up when required, defend your position and support your client.

Clients are a particularly broad mix from contractors to corporate enterprises and you will enjoy sitting down with any of them to understand their world and help them understand the bigger picture. Qualifications: For a position like this, experience is the most important element in the mix, and we would expect: a degree in Environmental/Civil/Natural Resources/Geography/Geology typically recognised by the NZ Planning Institute (NZPI) minimum of 5 years experience of consent processing and management a desire to expand your technical and maybe your people leadership in a senior-level role a passion for infrastructure and natural resources.
