Sexual Harm Crisis Worker Full Time Are you wanting a rewarding role that makes a real difference? CAPS Hauraki (child abuse prevention services) multidisciplinary team work together to make a difference in the lives of families within our local communities. We are seeking to employ a skilled and experienced practitioner who thrives on delivering a range of service options to meet the diverse needs of survivors of sexual harm and their wh nau. A key focus for this role will be working alongside the survivors of sexual harm and their wh nau (as appropriate).

This role is based within Thames-Coromandel/Hauraki, however may involve some travel to support clients in the Mata-mata Piako region as needed to meet referral demand. Service provided include: Advocacy and support including attendance at police/medical examinations related to an incident of sexual harm After hours support as part of a Call Out roster Face to face sessions to support symptom management (crisis counselling) Social Work support Information that enables the survivor and their wh nau to make informed decisions Wrap around support that provides practical and emotional support to help people on their journey to wellbeing Skills that would support you to be successful in this role: A social work, counselling, psychology or other relevant qualification with registration and/or professional association membership is preferred An understanding around the dynamics and impact of sexual violence and family violence Experience in working alongside survivors of sexual violence and their family/whanau and/or a willingness to expand your knowledge in this specialist area The ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders Excellent listening, communication and relationship/rapport building skills The ability to demonstrate initiative, good judgement and flexibility Excellent time management and organisational skills Experience of working with both adult and child clients would be an advantage The ability to utilise I.T.
