Emirates Team New Zealand is looking for a Simulator Manager to join our high-performing team. As the Defender of the America's Cup, we continuously push the boundaries of technology and innovation in sailing. Our sailing simulator - a flight simulator for boats - has become critical part of our success.

The Simulator Manager will be an essential part of our team, helping to enhance the realism of our simulator sailing and reduce differences to reality. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the simulator operations and collaborating with various departments to enhance sailing training and simulator performance analysis. This role requires both technical expertise and leadership qualities to drive the simulator program forward.

Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the sailing simulator facility. Take the lead in developing and implementing enhancements for our simulator software and hardware, whether personally or by collaborating with others.

Collaborate with sailors, coaches, and engineers to ensure simulator training aligns with performance goals. Maintain and troubleshoot simulator systems to ensure optimal and reliable performance. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Software programming or scripting experience in languages such as JavaScript, C++ and/or Python. Willingness to learn, a proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for innovation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ideally an existing technical understanding of simulation software and/or hardware systems. Ideally, experience with Unreal gaming engine, VR headsets, motion platforms or other custom hardware. Having sailing experience would be an asset! Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, as required.

The ability to start soon - the sooner the better. Willingness to travel overseas for periods of up to 4 months per year. The right to work in New Zealand is preferred, but we will also consider international candidates.
