Description Te kwhiringa | The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced, forward thinking, and commercially astute South Canterbury NOC Manager to lead the delivery of the South Canterbury Network Outcomes Contract (NOC). This position is based in Timaru and will play a vital role in the leadership and performance of Downers regional maintenance and operations business. As the South Canterbury NOC Manager, you will be accountable for the strategic and operational management of the South Canterbury NOC, ensuring it is delivered in line with contractual obligations, performance targets, Downers Integrated Maintenance Management System (IMMS), and our broader organisational values.
This is a pivotal leadership role that requires high level of technical knowledge, operational insight, client relationship management, team development, and commercial acumen. You will work closely with the Canterbury Regional Manager, internal business units and external stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. Youll lead a diverse team of professionals, including operations managers, asset managers, customer service managers, and subcontractors, and provide guidance, support, and direction across all facets of the contract.
Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain trusted, transparent, and value-driven relationships with the NZTA MCM and other key client representatives Oversee the full lifecycle of the South Canterbury NOC, ensuring alignment with business strategy, budgeted financial targets, and service level agreements Ensure successful delivery of KRAs and OPM performance outcomes under the contract framework Lead, manage, and support a multidisciplinary team across operations, customer services, asset management, and subcontracting Ensure all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are actively maintained and continuously improved Nga pkenga matua | Important Skills Youll need to be a collaborative leader who strives for excellence and balances it with your adaptable communication style. You will be a successful people leader with the ability to coach and mentor team members whilst driving operational site work to ensure quality, completion of work to schedule and minimal rework.
