We are looking for a Staff Component Engineer to fill a position at our Research and Development Centre located in Wigram, Christchurch.
Role/Duties: Leading the identification and evaluation of appropriate components for use in our product designs. Working with suppliers, purchasing staff, and product development engineers from a parts selection until its approval. Creating and maintaining parametric data to support component selection for design engineering.
Investigating alternate component technologies and suppliers to reduce cost while improving component quality and reliability. Supporting change management with PCN/ECR/MCO/ECO reviews and approvals in our PLM System (Arena). Required Personal Skills: Detail Oriented / Accurate Integrity Ability to say No when making approvals Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written A bility to work in cross-functional teams Qualification and Previous Experience: Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) 10 years experience outside of university in Electrical Engineering.
