Krero m te tranga - About the role Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting three Teaching Fellows in Writing to be employed full-time for a period of 12.6 weeks.
These teaching fellows will be based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. Key responsibilities: Teaching writing to first-year and second-year undergraduate students. Preparing lessons.
Providing feedback on student work. Marking student work. Attending teacher meetings.
pmanawa - About you You will have completed a PhD in writing pedagogy, rhetoric, professional writing, writing across the curriculum, writing in the disciplines, genre studies or similar. You will work as a productive member of a small, collaborative teaching group, contributing teaching and assessment ideas and working with the ideas of others. This position is based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China.
The appointee must be currently based in Hangzhou, or willing to relocate to Hangzhou for the contract period. We can provide financial support such as return travel to Hangzhou, campus accommodation and visa payment (if required). Key requirements: PhD (completed, but not necessarily conferred) in a relevant field.
Evidence of effective teaching. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work inclusively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
