M te tnga | About the Role Reporting to the Area Manager (Poutakiwa), this leadership role involves overseeing and supporting a team of Kaiawhina (staff) who provide day-to-day care and wellbeing for Tngata (clients) living in the whare (house). Key responsibilities include: Supporting the development and implementation of Tngata lifestyle and support plans Providing leadership and guidance to kaimahi/kaiawhina Overseeing day-to-day operational management Driving quality improvement initiatives Leading and mentoring your team Managing key relationships internally and externally Enhancing tikanga and Te Reo Mori in the whare and incorporating these across all activities This is a hands-on role, and at times you will need to provide direct support alongside your team to ensure the best outcomes for our Tngata . Ko wai koe | About You You are a natural leader with a background in the healthcare sector - whether in community health, disability support, or aged care - and ideally have experience working with people with high or complex needs.

You possess strong leadership, coaching, and people-management skills, and can foster a culture of collaboration and excellence in a sometimes-challenging environment. Communication is a strength of yours, both written and verbal, and you excel at building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Skills and Experience You will bring: Previous leadership experience in the care or support sector Strong computer literacy Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills High emotional intelligence and resilience Strong organisational and time management skills Confident decision-making abilities Understanding of cultural competency, particularly relating to Mori, Pacific, and other cultures Minimum Level 4 Certificate in Health & Wellbeing , or a recognised equivalent qualification (essential) A reasonable level of physical fitness A full NZ drivers licence (essential) M mtou | About Us Te Whriki Whakaruruhau is the service model of Te Roopu Taurima (TRT) .
