Were looking for an experienced Technical Director or Team Leader who has significant experience within the water sector, particularly specialising in Stormwater. Our Technical Directors have hands-on delivery rolesperfect for engineers who prefer real-world, end-to-end project work over sitting behind a modelling screen.

Your Role: This is a chance to lead complex water infrastructure projects from inception to construction monitoring, with real influence and support. Were seeking practical engineers who: Manage and deliver Stormwater projects Oversee full design and delivery, not just design concepts or models Can operate in asset management or design & build environments Confidently engage clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies Add leadership and mentoring within a multidisciplinary team Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and delivery of stormwater projects; stormwater networks, outfalls, inlet structures, outlet structures, energy dissipation structures, culverts and treatment devices Provide Technical Leadership for the team Prepare briefs, estimates, feasibility studies, and contract documentation Manage construction phases and deliver to time, budget, and quality Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders Monitor hazards and ensure compliance with H&S practices Coach and mentor junior engineershelp shape our future talent Stay current with relevant codes, standards, and software What Youll Bring: A tertiary qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering 15 years of experience in water infrastructure (minimum), preferably in NZ CPEng or near application stage Practical mindsetconfident moving from site to boardroom Strong technical design ability in the hydraulic design of stormwater assets Experience in a range of trenchless construction methods Leadership qualities and a collaborative approach to problem-solving Why Now?
