GHD is looking for a highly skilled design manager to take on the role of Technical Director Engineering, Design Manager working across our New Zealand offices.

Based in Auckland, this technical leadership role focuses on developing and delivering new and growing market opportunity for GHD in design and construct civil infrastructure projects. This pivotal role includes working with the Market Leaders in developing a pipeline of work in line with the groups business plan, overseeing and delivering projects to bring innovative solutions to our clients and showing technical leadership across the Region and beyond. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design development for transportation and civil infrastructure projects in a design and construct environment.

Provide technical leadership with an emphasis on growing GHD's capabilities and expertise. Coach and mentor our people while offering innovative solutions for our clients across the government and private sectors. Identify and develop new technical solutions and solve more complex client challenges.

About you: Degree qualified engineer (Civil) with at least 15 years industry experience A master in specific transport / highways related design, alternatively you may possess broader expertise in most or all areas within a discipline, demonstrated in a relevant industry or consulting business. You will have extensive knowledge of applicable standards, industry best practice and familiarity with international design standards. Proven experience in the technical leadership and management of design of engineering projects with specific experience in a D&C environment Client focussed with a growth mindset and ownership mentality Proactive with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Tech savvy with a passion for improving delivery through better use of technology You will have a track record for delivering exceptional client experience; and proven ability to cross sell and identify new service offerings. A leader in workplace and site safety, continuously contributing to a positive safety culture. Possess a valid NZ driver's license.
