Were looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to translate complex technical information into clear, accessible content that helps our customers and users understand, adopt, and maximize their use of Portainer. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality documentation, knowledge base articles, and other self-help content.

This content will serve as a critical touchpoint for our customers, users, and internal teams - ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date, and easy to understand. Requirements Key Responsibilities Own the documentation process: Write, structure, and maintain all user-facing documentation, including user guides, product manuals, how-to articles and knowledge base content. Maintain content accuracy and relevancy: Take full responsibility for the ongoing review, editing, and improvement of all technical content to ensure it stays aligned with product updates, user needs, and best practices.

Support product releases: Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to document new features, changes, and enhancements. Prepare release notes, upgrade instructions, and feature-specific usage guides for each release. Create customer-centric self-help resources: Produce a range of technical contentincluding tutorials and step-by-step guidesdesigned to help users onboard quickly and troubleshoot independently.

Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with engineers, customer support, and marketing teams to gather input and ensure content is technically accurate, user-focused, and aligned with broader company goals. Champion clarity and usability: Bring a user-first mindset to all content, ensuring it is logically organized, easy to navigate, and suitable for a diverse technical audiencefrom DevOps engineers to platform administrators. Qualifications & Experience Proven experience as a technical writer in a software, SaaS, or DevOps environment Understanding of containerization technologies, especially Docker and Kubernetes, or a demonstrated ability to learn technical systems quickly Exceptional written English skills, with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely Experience working with engineers, product managers, and support teams to extract and document technical detail Familiarity with documentation frameworks (e.

g., Markdown, AsciiDoc), version control systems (e.g.

, Git), and publishing tools (e.g., GitBook, Docsify, Hugo, or similar) Experience with visual or video tools (e.

g., Loom, Camtasia, Figma, or Snagit) for producing supporting content is a bonus but not essential Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment Tools & Skills Documentation tools: Markdown, Git, GitBook, static site generators (e.g.

, Docsify, Hugo), or CMS platforms Collaboration tools: Linear, Slack, Notion, Loom Version control: GitHub or similar Video & visual content tools: Loom, Snagit, Canva, Camtasia (optional) Technical famili.
