Role Overview: Were looking for a passionate and collaborative Intermediate Underwriter to join our high-performing Life Underwriting team at Fidelity Life. This is a full-time, Auckland-based role ideal for someone with 25 years of experience in life insurance underwriting, whos eager to step up and take on more responsibility.

If you have a solid understanding of underwriting principles and a genuine desire to improve the adviser and customer experience, this role could be the perfect opportunity for you. Youll work alongside senior underwriters and cross-functional teams to assess a wide range of life insurance applications, make sound underwriting decisions, and contribute to an environment where learning, innovating, and doing the right thing are part of the everyday. Description Key Responsibilities: Make Confident Decisions: Assess life insurance applications, applying underwriting principles to deliver fair, consistent, and timely outcomes.

Work Together: Build trusted relationships with advisers, team members, and internal stakeholders to support great customer experiences. Learn and Grow: Take every opportunity to grow your technical knowledge, learn from senior team members, and actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Be Customer-Centric: Balance risk with empathy and always look for ways to improve the application journey for advisers and their clients.

Support Change: Participate in process improvements and product enhancements that strengthen our underwriting practices. Skills And Experiences What Were Looking For: 25 years of experience in life insurance underwriting. A solid understanding of underwriting principles, medical terminology, and risk assessment.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Youre approachable, professional, and thrive in a team environment. A growth mindset eager to learn, open to feedback, and take pride in delivering high-quality work.
