Duties & Responsibilities of Position: Carry out and complete work as required by the Workshop Manager. Complete repairs and maintenance to a high standard so machinery doesnt have to return to the workshop earlier than scheduled. Complete repairs and maintenance in the field.
Plan new builds to reduce wastage of time and materials and ensure that the product is fit for purpose. Ensure all consumables/materials are ordered with the workshop manager before they run out. Keep the workshop tidy.
Maintain workshop equipment. General Responsibilities Complete timesheets and submit them in Upvise DAILY. Carry out and complete all labouring tasks as required by the Workshop Manager or Director.
Ensure ALL ordered goods and services have an order number (contact office for these). Checking of inward purchases with delivery dockets (paperwork to be returned to the office). Maintain and keep ALL company vehicles and plant and machinery clean.
Maintain and keep ALL hired plant and machinery clean. Look after and keep clean any small plant you may use. Check RUC (road user charges) on trucks and company vehicles driven by yourself.
Check own safety provisions. Carry out safety procedures. Health & Safety Roles & Responsibilities Use Safety lockout tags to lockout any machinery/equipment not fit for use.
Cooperate with all reasonable workplace health & safety policies/procedures/training. Comply with reasonable instructions given by the business. Wear the correct PPE.
Escalate any H&S concerns, incidents, or questions to the site foreman as needed. Identifying & Reporting Hazards Eliminate Minimise. Equipment Used: MIG/MMA Welder, Lathe, Drill Press, Press, Plasma Cutter, Oxy Acetylene Torch All plant and equipment either owned or hired by McPherson Contractors Limited Designated machine and hand equipment.
